HE The President of the Consultative (Shura) Council lectures at King Abdulaziz University

His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammad Al Sheikh, President of the Shura Council visited KAU where he met a number of faculty members and students as part of the Elite Program sponsored by HH Prince Doctor Bandar bin Salman bin Mohamed Al Saud on Sunday 24 April 2016 at King Faysal Conference Center. The function was  attended by HE KAU President Prof. Abdulrahman AL Youbi.

HE the Shura Council President delivered a lecture about the importance of the Islamic Sharia and its applications in Saudi Arabia and the commitment of its rulers of this nation to the Islamic approach ever since the foundation the Saudi state until nowadays which never stopped applying the Shura system.

HE also introduced the Shura Council and its importance represented by the gathering of wise and thoughtful scholars and dignitaries who possess a knowledge authority and influence on the society and who are selected by the supreme authority to explore, discuss issues and find righteous solutions for them. He also indicated that part of the SHura Council tasks the transmission of the decision from the administrative system to the constitutional system as well as the transmission of the positive picture of the Islamic Sharia. He also added that the Shura system cannot treat issues that have been either revealed to or transmitted by the prophet (PBUH) but rather public issues for which no constitutional text has been found.

At the end of the lecture, HE listened to students’ comment and questions and answered them.
