ELI Strategic Planning Award
On Thursday, April 25, 2019, it was announced that ELI had come first in the university community for its comprehensive and exemplary execution of the academic strategic initiatives of the KAU Vice-Presidency for Academic Affairs for the Spring Semester 2018/2019.
The first-place award was presented to the ELI Dean, Dr. Abdullah Al-Bargi, and the ELI Vice-Deans by the KAU Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Abdulmonem Al-Hayani, in a ceremony at the University Council Hall.
The award category (KAU Colleges and Institutes) is presented to distinguished KAU colleges and institutes that have shown remarkable and evidenced progress in the implementation of academic strategic initiatives utilizing carefully-calibrated and measured Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
During the ceremony, Dr. Al-Bargi delivered an overall presentation of the ELI Strategic Plan, explaining and expanding on the ELI methodology in setting its strategic projects and KPIs. The presentation took the audience through the ELI journey to set its vision, mission, values, and strategic goals in complete alignment with the 3rd KAU Strategic Plan, inspired by Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020.
Dr. Al-Bargi said that strategic planning had become a core ELI culture, leading all day-to-day operations. “Our journey to achieve our vision is guided by a success approach called strategic planning,” he added in a statement during the ceremony.
Dr. Al-Bargi thanked Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Youbi, for his support of ELI strategic projects and Prof. Abdulmonem Al-Hayani for his follow-up, support, and encouragement. Dr. Al-Bargi also extended his thanks to the Head of the Strategic Planning Unit of the Vice-Presidency for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Qarni, for his desk support and assistance with this endeavor.
Dr. Al-Bargi added that this great achievement would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of the ELI Vice-Deanships and faculty, especially the Vice-Deanship for Development, headed by Dr. Khalid Al-Harthy, and his dedicated teams on the Men’s Campus and the Women’s Campus.
