Placement Test
Introduction
The ELI uses the Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT) to put you in the correct English level. It contains reading, listening and grammar questions.
For more information about the test contents, visit the Cambridge English Placement Test website.
Here is a sample test made by Cambridge so that you can see what the test is like.
All ELI students should take the test before the start of the academic year and you can only do the test once. The ELI recommends you do the CEPT because you will be put in a level 1 class if you do not do the test.
More information about placement test requirements for different English tracks is on the ELI Programs page.
