Vice Dean for Academic Affairs
Dr. Qutub Graduated in 2001 from Umm Al Qura University with BA in English Language (with a minor in Education). He obtained an MA in Curricula and Methods of Teaching English Language from Umm Al Qura University in 2005. In addition to his local MA degree, he completed an MA in TESL/Applied Linguistics program, Northern Arizona University, Arizona, USA. Finally, he acquired a Doctorate in TESOL and Applied Linguistics (EdD.) from the University of Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom in 2017. Dr. Qutub worked as a teacher in Saudi public schools, an English Language Educational Supervisor for Saudi public schools, and an Educational Supervisor for international schools in Jeddah before joining The English Language Institute (ELI) at King Abdulaziz University in 2008. Currently, he works as the Head of Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit at the ELI. Dr. Qutub’s research interests include, but not limited to, second language pronunciation, second language acquisition, ESP, and program administration.

Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research
Dr. Mohammed Alharbi is an associate professor of TESOL at the English Language Institute, King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He was awarded his PhD Degree in TESOL from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. His research and teaching interests revolve around Higher Education Studies, Curriculum Studies, internationalization of higher education, language education, e-learning in neoliable times, English language teaching approaches, communicative interaction in the EFL classrooms and Professional Development.
The Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research is responsible for:

Vice Dean for Women's Campus
Dr Nashwa Saaty is an assisstant professor in TESOL . She was awarded a BA in English Language and Literature from KAU in 2002. Dr Saaty was awarded an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Nottingham, UK in 2008, and a PhD in TESOL from the same university in 2015. Her reseach intrests are in L2 motivation, learner idenity, curriculum design and development and educational psychology. Dr Nashwa Saaty served as the Head of Graduate Studies and Academic Research unit at the ELI from 2019 to 2024.

Vice Dean for Academic Affairs in Rabigh Men’s Campus
Dr. Abdullah Alshakhi is an Associate Professor of Language Assessment and Testing. He is currently the Vice Dean of Graduate for academic affairs in Rabigh. He is also the Head of Curriculum and Testing Unit at the English Language Institute at King Abdulaziz University. With particular research interests in language testing and assessment literacy, construct validity, writing assessment, test reliability and analysis, and language policy, Dr. Alshakhi has been published in both local and international journals. He is actively involved in several workshops involving language assessment and testing through the Educational Testing Service (ETS), Cambridge Assessment as well as the European Association of Language Assessment and Testing (EALTA).

Vice Dean for Rabigh Women’s Campus
Dr. Alabdali is an Assistant Professor at KAU- Rabigh branch, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology. She was awarded a PhD in Information Security, from Heriot Watt University in 2017.
Dr. Alabdali has held many positions at King Abdulaziz University, Rabigh branch. She was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at KAU from 2019-2022. Before that, she was supervisor of the Information Systems department at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology from 2017-2019.
